Mount Tengu Ropeway Observation Deck

Reaching the ropeway is straightforward from Otaru Station, itself an easy trip from Sapporo on the JR Hakodate Main Line. A Chuo Bus runs from the station to the ropeway base in around twenty minutes, and a taxi covers the distance more quickly. The cable car runs into the evening, making the night view accessible without a car. Combining Mount Tengu with a stroll along Otaru's famous canal and preserved warehouse district makes for a classic day trip out of Sapporo.
